For The Job Seeker

If you are ready congratulations! If you’re not ready then let’s talk. The journey in landing any job usually starts  with your résumé, unless you have a direct referral. However, most of us are not lucky enough to get a direct referral to land a job, we have to do it the old fashioned way; the résumé leads to the interview which leads to the job.

Before you send your résumé to any hiring manager a cover letter should be attached because it gives you a chance to brag about yourself and convince the hiring manager why you are most qualified for the job before they get to your résumé. It should be 4-5 short paragraphs about your qualifications that match the qualifications of the job.

Our new President stated in his speech, "Everywhere we look there is work to be done." He also stated, "We will extend opportunity to every willing heart." And, "This is a new era of responsibility." The old way of doing things won’t apply anymore, the way you used to interview will not apply, your old résumé and cover letter if you had one will not apply, but the way you market yourself to get the attention of a hiring manager will apply!
